    Marshall Vintage Amp

    Hi all Open-mouthed

I've just had my 1970 Marshall Master PA amphead fixed. It's been rewired and tested and runs on four EL34 valves. The outside of it has been left just as it is to keep it authenic age. I've searched the net for anyone selling a same modal and found a guy who has a different model asking for serious offers only. Here's his page. So, I'm still at a loss as to how much it's worth, but I have had an offer from a mate. However i would like to know its true value cos I dont wanna rip me mate off now do I. Here's a piccy of it......

     Bye for now.

    "Technicon"

    Hi all Open-mouthed

I've been working on this track, "Technicon" this week. It now has a new lead in the first sequence, and a new kick throughout the track. Nexus vsti supplied these sounds. The rest was done with the zeta+. You can listen here. That's all for now.

    Electric Sky Dancer

    Hi Folks!

I've been working on ESD to give it a more manic last sequence. There I was going through all my synths looking for a sound that worked, and the good old z3ta+ came to the rescue. I fiddled about a bit with some of the paramaters and finally got a sound I was quite happy with and there's also some nice gated arpeggios from Nexus. The rest of the track is unchanged but now after the long symphonic breakdown I feel the listener is given much more than just a simple step melody that was there originally.

Here's the tune if you'd like to listen.

    Byes for now!

    Loves Embrace Video

    Hi all Open-mouthed

I'd like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2009, may all your dreams come true. I didn't think I'd be posting here again about anything musical, but treating myself to a webcam for Crimbo got me thinkin' about a music video. So, here's one I did of "Loves Embrace". Hope you like.

    IMIsound

    Hi everyone Open-mouthed

I got a mail from a freind and really cool musician by the name of Tony Lawson. He runs a site called IMIsound (Idependant Musicians from Italy). Tony has just opened up an International section so artists from around the globe can sign up. Here's the link if you want to hear some ultra cool music from Italy and beyond. I highly recommed it!!

    Illuminator

    Hi all  Open-mouthed

With the end of the year approaching I would think it's quite safe to say that this will be my final release of the year. It's a complete overhaul of one of the first electronic dance tunes I did, which was called "Push". Now, it has a new name to go with the new sounds. The link to "Illuminator" is here. I mostly used Nexus for it with a bit of Z3ta ( the low end before and during the percussion part)  and Triangle II (for the bass).

Like the original it starts off quite dark, which is unusual for me but like all my tunes in this genre they end up happy...lol. I'm pretty pleased with the production, using T-Racks 3 Delux for mastering. I've tested it out on a few systems and surprisingly I'm not getting any distortion at all. Now, having said that it'll probably sound a right mess your end...lol. Touch wood eh?

    all the bestest,
    Pete

    Electric Sky Dancer

    Hi all Open-mouthed

I hope all's well with everyone out there and that things are okies, if not, well, it'll soon be Christmas...lol Anyway, I have a new Trancey tune for you. It's called "Electric Sky Dancer",  here's the direct play link. It's my longest track in this genre at 9:40 mins, going through lots of changes and a nice symphonic breakdown before things get going again. If ya like this kinda stuff it may be a treat for you....lol. Byes for now!

    All the best,

    Escape velocity

    Hi all  Open-mouthed

I've added a new melody to the middle section of Escape Velocity which was my first attempt at a Trance number some years ago. The melody which is on the upbeat continues in the last two sequences of the tune too. If you'd like to hear it for yourself you can do so here.

As I said, this is an old tune and I'm planning of revamping others too, now that I have some better synths like the z3ta+ and Nexus II.

    Thats all for now,

    POP & Fixed Links

    Hi all  Open-mouthed

I've joined another site, called Project Overseer Productions. I have three tracks up there at the mo. "Some You Win, Some You Lose", which is a Jazz number. "The Outbreak of Peace" a roots reggae instrumental with the wizardry of William from Chicago on keys and lastly "Phoenix Five". I hope to upgrade my account there and upload more music in the near future. Here's the page for now.

As I metioned last month since the demise of Funender.com some of the links to my tunes on this blog had become broken.
They are now all fixed to a mirror site I have at Soundclick.

I am a bit out of my comfort zone with trance but this is certainly well done and some elements are positively tasty...I'd say overall, you seem more confident in this genre ...but never stop making that reggae and jazz you do so well too!! (I am playing follow the leader with my rate for this one as have no expertise whatever for judging it but they all do (in spades!!)

My fave of the three so far. Definitely a happy vibe and that's what trance is supposed to be about.
An easy rate for this track.
          DaveRave - 25 May 2008
You give your main genre as Reggae! You are a true Trance head though! This grabs me fron the get go with a lot of energy I always thinks there is a lot to be gained by begining with a simple drum/fx intro -and building up the energy - especially with a 7 minute plus mix - Having said that there is something to be said for hooking your listener from the outset -
The production is very crisp and in a busy mix you do well on the whole to balance the elements. Very enjoyable listen w2hich deserves a rating. Hope you will give us more trance - good one.
          MoonTurnedBlue - 24 May 2008

RIP Funender.com and a new home for my music.

    Hi all Open-mouthed

Alas, Funender.com, a home for many thousands of indie bands and musicians is unfortuntely no more. It was one of the first musician forums that I had joined. It had around 2000 members then and in it's last days there were over 30,000 members. I'd made many friends there and for a long time it was a very cool place to hangout. I'm gonna miss it.

I do have another site for my music, click here to visit. You'll find the same songs and you'll be able to stream them or download them just like things were at Funender. Please note that any links in previous enties in this blog were linked to Funender, so, they are now broken, defunked and dead. A big thanks to everyone that supported me there, at times I was getting 40 to 60 plays a day which was very encouraging. Thanks once again!

I do have some more news. There is now a Polish Radio Station in Bedord, surving the 5000 plus Poles that live in the town. It also gets listeners in Poland. I've been asked for demo, so, maybe if you're tuned in here you might hear a Europica tune.

    bye for now,

So if your a reggea fan and you want to hear some sweet sounds this is deffo a place you'd want to consider visiting regularly.

    New music

    Hi all  Open-mouthed

well, for the past week I've been offline due to a CPU fan error. I had to wait a week before anyone came around to fix it. However, in that time I managed to compose a new piece of music which is a Classical number and a new genre for me too. It's called "Loves Embrace" and can be played here . This is my second track using the superb synth that is Nexus.

    Computer Upgrades

I've just had my music pc upgraded and it's running a lot better. It now has a new ASUS motherboard with a Quad Core 2 processor, two gig of DDR3 Ram and 500 gig drive where all my song files are stored. I have a new 17 inch tft monitor and I'm just awaiting the arrival of my Axiom 49 key midi controller keyboard. The C Drive now has 160 gig capacity so there is plenty of room for loads and loads of VST instruments. I'm pretty pleased with it all. I may have to replace my studio piccy with a new one....lol  Smile

    Inspiration

    Hi Cicero

Thanks for visiting and posting on my blog. Nice to meet you. Joy Division were the band that I listened to that made me wanna take up the bass guitar. Peter Hook was their bass player and his sound was so rich and full that it really inspired me. Also, in the late 70's early 80's I used to go and see a lot of bands at places like The Lyceum, Electric Ballroom and Cambridge Corn Exchange. They used to have three or four bands on in one night. Between the bands setting up the DJ used to play Dub in which the bass guitar is very dominant. So I was starting to listen to people like Scientist, King Tubby, Sly N Robbie. Many years later I got into Jazz, listening to Weather Report, Yellow Jackets, Chick Corea. I like most kinds of music so I draw my inspiration form many people.

Listening wise my favourite instument is also the guitar. I just love to see a player go into an extended solo and really rock things up generaly. I like people like  Frank Zappa, Stevie Ray, Angus Young. It's all good stuff!
